We introduced the industry’s first purpose-built data racks in 1989. Then, we rewrote the book on data centre cooling and efficiency in 2007 with our cold aisle containment solutions.

Jeremy Hartley
Managing Director
In 1989 Jeremy founded Dataracks. After several years as a sheet metal subcontractor, he has not looked back since entering the Data Centre Markets in the UK and beyond. Jeremy designed and developed the first dedicated data rack in the UK market. Some of his other works have had him involved in the designing of the Dataracks innovative 303 ranges of server racks, aisle containment, security cages, and many more products over the years. Jeremy is very proud to be a UK manufacture. He is also a keen supporter of Green policies for the company, which has led him to install solar panels on the factory roof to help power the building. His Visionary ideas brought us where we are as a company today!
Dave Smith
CEO
In 2024, Dave was appointed as the CEO of Dataracks, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the data centre industry. As the CEO of Dataracks, Dave is responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational oversight of the company.
Celia Yu MAAT
Finance Manager
Celia has been our Finance Manager for over 10 years now. As a critical member of the team, her days vary from managing day-to-day financial transactions dealing with the UK and International customer accounts to preparing our monthly and yearly financial statement and budgets of finances in the future. Celia is fluent in English and Chinese. She is the one with power, as she is in charge of our salaries!
Marc Hartley
Accounts manager
After starting as an Assembly Operative whilst still at school in 2004, Marc has progressed through various factory roles over the years before moving on to join the Installation Team. With the knowledge that Marc gained throughout his experience in these roles in 2010, he joined the sales team, where he moved into a customer-facing role. Putting his years of knowledge and experience into good use. Marc most enjoys solving customer requirements.
Clare Berry
Accounts Manager
Clare joined our Sales team back in 2012 having worked in different sales roles throughout her career. She is a vital link between our customers and production team, her role can vary from day to day, providing quotations, ranging from small to large projects. Clare ensures our new and existing customer base get exactly what they need in the required time frame, which is her number one priority. Her attention to detail is key.
Nicola Hartley
Installation Implementation Manager
Nicola started working at Dataracks in 2011 as a Welder & Sheet Metal Worker. For a short period of time, Nicola also ran our paint shop whilst studying for an NVQ level 2 in Fab & Welding and NVQ level 2 in Team Leading & Management. After 5 years, she was promoted to our Installation Implementation Manager. Nicola’s job involves the planning & logistics of getting our engineers & product to sites across the UK and worldwide.
Nick Hussey
Production Manager
Nick joined Dataracks in 2012 as a Factory Operative. In 2018 Nick took on the role of our Purchasing and IT Manager. Using his IT skills Nick is working continuously with the company ERP system to improve internal procedures and efficiencies. His role is vital to the smooth running of operations within the factory.
Gavin Wetton
HR Consultant
Gavin joined Dataracks in 2023 as our HR Consultant, he brings 30 years of management experience to the team. Gavin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a Member of the Association for Coaching, Gavin is highly respected for his expertise and dedication to excellence in human resources. His extensive knowledge and professional credentials make him an invaluable asset to the company.
Samuel Johnson
Marketing Manager
Samuel joined Dataracks in 2024, bringing with him 8 years of experience in graphic design and visual effects. as the Marketing Manager, he oversees various crucial aspects, including website design, data analysis, and social media management.
Carlos Leal
Project Manager
Carlos joined Dataracks in 2023, bringing over 11 years of experience in design. Fluent in Spanish English and Portuguese, he is known for his hardworking nature and keen attention to detail. His expertise and dedication have made him a valuable asset to the team.
Michelle Day
Design Engineer
Michelle joined Dataracks in 1999, starting her career in assembly and punching and folding. Through hard work and dedication, she has worked her way up to become a Design Engineer for the company. In her role, Michelle is responsible for creating innovative and efficient designs that meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. Her journey reflects her commitment and expertise, making her an invaluable member of the team.
Will James
Design Engineer
Will James joined Dataracks in 2024 as a Design Engineer, bringing with him six years of experience in the sheet metal and engineering industry. Fluent in SolidWorks, Will applies his natural organisational skills to deliver precise and innovative designs. His expertise in engineering software's and commitment to quality make him a vital asset to the team.
Alex Fournere
Design Engineer
Alex Fournere joined Dataracks in 2024 as a Design Engineer, bringing with him 12 years of prior experience in precision engineering and product development. With a strong background in CAD modelling, sheet metal fabrication and DFMA, Alex plays a key role in turning complex concepts into practical, high-performance solutions. His technical expertise and problem-solving mindset make him a valuable part of the design team.
Ashley Barnes
Co-Head of Assembly
Ashley, joined Dataracks in 2021. With 7 years of prior managerial experience, he plays a crucial role in overseeing the assembly process, ensuring both efficiency and quality. Known for his loyalty to the company and dedication, Ashley's leadership and expertise are invaluable to the team.
Keith Richardson
Co-head of Assembly
Keith joined Dataracks in 2020, bringing over 38 years of experience in the packing industry. He ensures that customers receive their deliveries safely and in pristine condition, always demonstrating genuine care for their satisfaction. His extensive expertise and commitment to quality make him an indispensable part of the team.
James Fenn
Head of Punching and Folding
James, joined Dataracks in 2009, and has over 30 years of experience in sheet metal work, including punching and folding. His extensive expertise ensures precision and quality in our metal fabrication processes, making him an invaluable member of our team.
Simon Minns
Head of Welding
Simon, has been with Dataracks since 2013. He is fluent in Spanish and English With over 20 years of experience in engineering and welding, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. Simon's leadership ensures the highest standards in our welding processes, making him a vital part of our operations.
